I was at the ICE weekly craft fair at Sweet Auburn Market this weekend and had a special guest: My mom! If you haven’t heard the story of Jou Jou My Love yet, my mom is the one who taught me how to make jewelry.
Together, we bonded over our love for beads and obsession to create.
My family is from Egypt and my mother always calls me jou jou habibti – jou jou is a nickname and habibti in arabic means my love.
That’s how jou jou my love was born.
